We met on the VanIsle360. We've owned our Saturna 33 Pilothouse since1987. We trucked it up to Yellowknife and sailed Great Slave Lake for three years until we retired down here in Brentwood Bay.
I'll try and address your questions.
The only problems we have with the windows are really only annoyances; (a) in heavy seas or driving rain, the lower corners of the windshields drip a bit, but we'll be attending to that soon, (b) on cold days, the large windows gather a lot of condensation, and we've not solved that problelm.
We've made no alternations to the hydraulic wheel-steering. We have an autohelm driving the inside wheel when required.
We don't have radar, and we're in no hurry to get one. The ICOM electronic charts with the GPS is great. It also is a depth sounder/fishfinder and we can turn on the split screen to show both functions. Also, we still maintain our old LoranC which is very reliable.
We installed our holding tank under the forward port vee-berth, just ahead of the forward wall of the head. It operates when required, through the operation of our Y-valve underneath the sink in the head, and it has a deck pump-out.
We don't have a HF radio. But I would guess it might sit quite nicely under the deck next to the inside steering station.
We have an 8.5' rigid hull (aluminum) Aquapro with a 4 HP Johnson hanging on SS davits on the stern.

(A few years back we had the bottom peeled, and it dried out in the air for five months before the fiberglass mat was re-applied with an epoxy product. The boat is now slightly lighter and responsive and sails just a bit faster now. This year we're having the hull, mast and boom sanded and repainted.)
